Do you have to take the glucose test?

This is my third and I have never had problems and that drink makes me feel horrible for days.  Do you have to take the test?  Can you just say no?

In the UK we only do it if the mother has a high BMI. Otherwise it's not necessary.

I don't have to take it but if I don't they have to classify me as high risk because they would have no idea if I have it or not. I didn't pass my 1hr at 16 weeks so my midwife is just letting me re-take it at 28 weeks because I can't even make it to the 3hr without feeling extremely dizzy and lethargic. For now I'm on a low-carb high protein diet just incase. It's important to test because anyone can get GD even if you are of healthy weight and have no other risk factors, and even if your past pregnancies were fine.. just do it for the safety of your baby even if you feel like crap from it, because it can cause fetal death if it isn't caught and diagnosed.

They cannot force you to. I denied the 3 hr and I just have to take my glucose 4x a day til baby is here.

You can refuse it and just monitor your blood sugars with a glucose meter for two weeks, I would rather take the drink lol

Every pregnancy is different, you may pass with flying colors but you never know, I would never chance it. I only took the test with my first and with each pregnancy after have monitored from beginning so I didn't have to take it again.
