I had precipitous(very fast) labor and never had time for it... It wasn't as bad as I had imagined except that it was hard labor so fast couldn't get a breath but even if I have long labor this time which won't I'm sure it will be even faster.. I wouldn't take any risk with my spine.. Obviously God made it to where we could handle it plus I think looking back is completely rewarding didn't miss the experience

My previous labor was god awful. 23 hours in everyone said get the epi, I did and it really helped my labor progress, me feel better and avoided an emergency c-section in the process. I'll labor without mess for as long as I can with this one, but I'm totally down for the epi.

Having dealt with kidney stones and being told by many women that is worse than childbirth I'm going to try not to one. The pain from kidney stone is horrible but I can stand it.

Not that I'm against them but in the past I've had short labor and by the time I'm in excruciating pain it's too late. Before that I can't breathe thru it. However if for some reason I would have a long labor they can sign me up for the epi!!!

I got one with my son, labored 6 hours without and 7 with. Personally I found it very worth it, I wasn't scared to push and just felt so much more comfortable and at ease. I will definitely get one again this time around - it's a bit of a strange experience to not be able to move from the waist down but it definitely makes things less painful, I even had some stitches and it helped numb out any pain from that as well
