I did CMA. It depends if you want to do clinical work or not.

Where I live all CMAs are trained in medical terminology and basic ICD and CPT coding so they will always get hired before the person with just one skill(admin work) under their belt.

Agree with Mone. CMA is gonna be working on the floor, AMA is gonna be more of a desk job.
