Do you trust pharmaceutical companies and pharmaceutical drugs?

Question

Some pharmaceuticals are really great but others probably should not be available to people and cause more problems than they help. How do you feel about them?

Overall, yes. I trust studies and clinical trials. I realize it’s not perfect and as we find more information, things change. But that’s the point of science:that it’s always evolving and fluid.

Largely, yes. But I don’t trust the advertising process and getting patients to ask for drugs. It’s so bizarre. Since when did we determine that a pill could fix everything?

Somewhat. I trust their research and development, and I trust that the FDA is overseeing general safety. 
I don’t particularly trust their marketing arm. I think the recent opioid crisis making news should make us all a little more skeptical of any drug that’s advertised as too good to be true, or advertised at all for that matter.

Mostly yes. I think a lot of doctors push medications that they don’t fully understand unfortunately, but if something is wrong with me, I’m going to try just about anything. 
I treat at home if I can with homeopathic methods first since I hate taking medications.

So much of it is poison honestly... for SOME they’re life saving, for others they’re a quick “fix” when if people would just treat their bodies right, they wouldn’t need a pill to begin with. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ 
For instance, instead of anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, I see a chiropractor. There’s about a million things I’d do before getting back on medication and would consider my particular case of anxiety pretty severe and at times debilitating.

No particularly, no.
These companies are in it for the money. I very rarely take medication, and if I do I make sure I’ve researched the side effects and read studies on it first.
People are so quick to push pills for everything. And if one pill gives them a side effect they are given another pill to counteract it.
Don’t get me wrong, some medications Re life saving and wonderful. But big pharma is first and foremost a business, so their main interest is lining their pockets.
The first time I was pregnant I had low iron and was prescribed iron pill, then stool softeners because iron pills can clog you up, then anti-nausea meds because the iron pills made me sick.  Why?? Why wasnt the first recommendation to eat more iron rich food and see if that helped my levels?

I have to trust them. I’m reliant on them. Without my medication I’d be having three migraines a week, vomiting to the point where I wouldn’t be able to keep food down and lose weight rapidly, wouldn’t be able to hold down a job, and most likely have a stoke like migraine. However I wholly disagree however with the American system where these companies exploit and capitalise off others poor health, it’s disgusting and unethical

Well I trust the pharmaceuticals that I put in my mouth each morning so I guess I'm for pharmaceuticals, modern medicine is quite incredible and continues to rapidly change/evolve/improve

I trust them to a point. Even in the medical field we do questions some drugs. 
However without pharmaceutical companies, we wouldn't have some of the antibiotics we do now for super bugs and other things.

Most of my family is in the medical field. My dad is a pharmacist so even if there are bad ones out there, I trust most because I understand how they work and have family I can trust that is in the field. They aren’t as bad or corrupted as most people think.
