Breast Pain

Every cycle my breasts normally get a little tender a few days before my period. I am currently 9 dpo, I was tracking ovulation and we bd before and after I ovulated.

I took a test this morning which was negative. I know I'm still early so we haven't given up hope yet.

My question is about breast pain, in particular nipple pain. For the past 4 days my nipples are very sore to the touch and seem raw, like their dry and cracking.

Is this more of a possible pregnancy symptom or a period symptom?
