Baby’s first bath?

When do you give baby his first bath after bringing home? I have heard some people saying first few days just use wet wash cloth on body to wipe everything down. I’m first time mom please give me tips and advice on when do you actually bathe baby for the first time after bringing home. How many days do you bathe them? Everyday or every few days or just run wet wash cloth to wipe body for first week??

They can’t have a real bath till there umbilical card stump falls off on its own. Keep the baby clean by wiping them down when needed. After the cord falls off I do every 2-3 days as needed till there older then every other day

I wash them when they get stinky. 😂 Breastmilk, sweat, and smells from other people holding them.  They can get kinda smelly. You can only sponge bathe until the cord stump dries up and falls off. It only takes a week or so for it to fall off.

I gave my daughter a bath 2-3 days after she was born, her stump was still on. I was also still in hospital. A mother that birthed her baby a couple of hours after me bathed her baby just 24 hours later before she left the hospital. I then just bathed her every few days.

I gave her an actual bath once her stump fell off. Until then, I washed her down wish a wash cloth. I give her a bath every other day.
