What happens when you're induced?

I'm almost 36 weeks and have been having blood pressure issues so dr is going to induce me at 37 weeks. I'm just scared my labor won't progress bc I'm early and then I will have to have a c section.

My doctor gave me gel to ripening my cervix. Then a couple hours later they gave me Piticon after that he broke my water and then I got a epidural at 4cm. 6 hours later and less then five mintues of pushing my  daughter was born. All together my labor was 16 hours long.

I'm being induced at 38 weeks because of blood pressure problems. I'm currently 33 weeks & 5 days.

I was 3 dilated and fully effaced when I was induced. Doc broke my waters and started pitocin drop at 6:30am and baby was born at 3:30pm.

I was 22 weeks when they had to induce me when my daughter passed away. It definitely takes longer when you aren't completely full term, but it'll happen.

Induced twice, both vaginal births, my doc said as long as I kept progressing and nothing too crazy happened they'd go for the vaginal birth, worked nicely in both cases

I was induced with both of my children, water was broken both times, and was able to have them both vaginally. Don't worry, you and baby will be fine!

They give you pitocin to start labor and break your waters. There is an increased risk of needing a c section with an early induction but coming from someone who had a c section it is not horrible and recovery is manageable. Most important is that they get the baby here safely bc blood pressure issues are dangerous for you and baby
