If your father has cut you out of their life

Would you continue to try to contact them? I haven't really spoke to my father since 2014. I texted my father the day before I got married (he doesn't pick up the phone when I call), and he said "Good luck!". I haven't heard from him since. For Father's Day, my husband said that I should text him Happy Father's Day, and I said, no he won't respond. So, I did, and he didn't respond. He's never even met my 3-year-old niece, his own granddaughter. I love her so much, that if i wasn't already her Auntie, I'd probably pretend that I was😂. I don't even understand the cruelty of my own father😒.
