Am I to OLD?

Question

Every since my husband and I started family planning I decided on getting a tattoo to represent my family. This isn't my 1st tattoo, I have 2. 
I am a SAHM who is an artsy individual with has an art degree. I have never been on the "normal" side of fashion. My husband loves that about me. Anyways I have 3 kids and going on 12 years of marriage. I have planned for 8-EIGHT- years on getting my leg inked from the mid calf down-It's a floral piece that is very feminine. I spoke of this to my MNL who we currently live with. She said I would "look absolutely stupid being a 40 year old mother walking around with a new tattoo AND that is the most ridiculous thing to waste my "husband's" money on!" In a way she made me feel pathetic and second guess myself. Am I to OLD!!!

You are NOT old!!!! Don't let people make you feel that way. It is YOUR body and you can chose to do what you want.  I've seen 80 year olds get a new tattoo and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you want to do it and your husband is supportive then go for it!

OMG you're so OLD. I'm kidding, Christ, you want a tattoo, go get a tattoo. my mum was 50 with her last tattoo and probably will get more when she fancies it. the older generation still get their first tattoos. if your husband hasn't got a problem with it and you don't have a problem with it then what's the issue. I'm not saying your husband should decide if you can or can't get a tattoo but if he is paying for it and he is happy to pay for it is what I mean x

My sister got her first tattoo at 47 just got her second at 48. My mother is planning on getting her first one at 70 this summer. You do you!

Not too old.  Spending the money on something like that is only bad if you don't have the money.  As long as you're not spending your bill money on it, rock on.

My hubby does tattoos. He does them on people of all ages. Lots of us “old” folks are getting tattoos, some their first these days. If it will make you happy and you have the means, do it!! I think your idea sounds super cute and something you can show off for a long time to come (or hide with pants if you want). Do you girl! Ignore the haters:)

My mom was 48 when she got her first tattoo. She is now 50 with a full calf tat and both inside forearms. You do what you want. It’s your body.

I’m a sahm and honestly I would feel shitty spending money on a tattoo instead of other things. But that’s me personally. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting tattoos it’s just expensive- I have three.  
I don’t think you’re too old.
