Anyone ever had vitreous detachment/ retinal detachment?

Just curious. And what were your symptoms?

I've never had one myself, but I'm a certified ophthalmic assistant and I work for a retina specialist. We see patients that have them all the time. The main symptoms are flashes of light and floaters. Another is sudden loss of vision and straight lines looking wavy. You should google and print out something called an amsler grid. Tape it flat against a wall and cover one eye. Look at the center and see if the grid lines are wavy or if there if any of the chart is missing. That's a good indication. Hope I could help!! ☺️

Hi, I'm extremly nearsighted  and I have that issue and I have macular edema as well. Symptoms include a sudden or gradual increase in either the number of floaters, which are little “cobwebs” or specks that float about in your field of vision, and/or light flashes in the eye. Another symptom is the appearance of a curtain over the field of vision. A retinal detachment is a medical emergency.
