Baby binkie? help!

Okay mom's my daughter turned a year old June 12th. she only has 1 single tooth but still has her binkie "ucka" she  says. sits the "mam" brand idk if that matters or not. she is the only one of my children that has taken a binkie. my family seems to doubt my parenting and is telling me to get rid of it. that she will end up with "horse teeth" personally it doesn't bother me she has it. but could this be the cause of why she won't drink From a sippy cup either? what age should I take this binkie away?

Are your parents the ones raising YOUR child? if not, then their opinions are completely irrelevant. Our (almost) 13 month old still has a pacifier as well as a full mouth of teeth. I have zero plans of taking it away right now since we have a lot of big life changes happening in the next few months (like a cross-country move). So now isn't the best time to try breaking habits. We'll be taking it away at 18 months once we're settled into our new home. That's what we have chosen to do with our daughter. My MIL insists we take it away now, but again, she's not the parent. We are 🤷🏻‍♀️ so her opinion on the matter is irrelevant to me.

I started thinking about it at 2yrs. At 1ish I greatly decreased the amount of time he had it (limited to naps & bedtime unless he was teething or sick).....at 2½ he turfed it behind his dresser (at bedtime) and I told him I couldn't find it (he wasn't that upset). That was it!! 
A few weeks after I walked into my mom's house (kids stayed there on weekends I worked) to find him sucking on the soother attached to a stuffie 🤣🤣🤣 It was so funny lol

My daughter gave hers up herself by 3 months, but she sucks her index finger (she'll be 2 in july). Her teeth stick out a bit, but you have to keep in mind that those teeth will far out 😊 Also, age 2 was my cut off for her if she decided to keep a paci.

At 1 it's not a concern. If by 2 years she still takes it, cut the tip off and she won't get the satisfaction from sucking it and the time for binkies will be over.

Your child, your decision. But soothers are one of, if not the hardest thing to get your child off of.
We took our little one off her soother when she was 22 months. (Would’ve been sooner but we didn’t really have a choice in the matter until then). She used it all the time and was pretty attached to it, especially at bed time. We honestly just took it away from her cold turkey and threw it out. When she’d ask for it we just changed the topic. She got over it right away. Never had any issues sleeping without it or anything.

I’ve heard from two very successful parents that 15 months is the magic time. They both replaced pacifier with a lovey and it was only 2-3 days of fussing and then all was fine. There’s a leap around that time I think. I plan to do it then with my now 9 month old

I don’t think the that would stop her from drinking from sippy cups. My son is a year and 5 months now but uses only sippy cups and still has his paci.... slowly going to take it away. But that’s how he calms down most of the time from falling especially.
