How much does a midwife charge?

I'm interested in having a home birth... Does anyone know how much a midwife charges?

Mine is $4,000 that includes all prenatal appointments, and the birth. It didn’t however, include ultrasounds. And I had to pay an extra $350 for a birth assistant. My insurance paid for everything except $350 for the birth assistant. I looked at other midwives/birthcenters and they charge between 4,000 and $7000. I live in South Florida.

Mine is covered by my insurance, but my advice is to kind of "shop around" do meet and greets (they're almost always free). Find someone you are comfortable with and talk about pricing with them.

There are no in-network midwives where I live. Her cash cost is $4800 and my out-of-network cost would be similar. I have requested an in-network exception and if granted, will only pay 10% after my deductible. Say a prayer for me that we get the exception! 
We paid cash last time plus all labs and ultrasounds. And then had to pay for a hospital transfer... it added up to quote a lot by the time all was said and done.

Our midwife charges $1800 and that includes everything except the $50 birth package for the home birth.

Shop around and call your insurance to see if they have anyone in network and of course find out the out of network costs. We have been extremely lucky that everything so far has been covered as she is in network and all prenatal visits are "free" as well as routine lab work. As far as the actual delivery we're not sure what our cost is going to be but as this will be our second delivery with her, whatever the cost, she is beyond worth it.

My midwife charges $2700. That includes prenatal visits, labs, the birth and postpartum visits. Plus she's always a text away with any concerns I have! There is a discount for repeat clients, I'm not sure if all midwives do that though. To me it's totally worth the cost!
