Removing airport art?

So this may not be that controversial, but in my state it definitely has been. I’ve been born and raised in CO and this has been an iconic statue for almost 20 years in front of the international airport. Now the governor and some other committees are meeting to decide if it should be removed after people complaining how creepy it is. I agree that it’s not my favorite piece of art, but it seems silly to complain after almost 20 years to me.
