Hi I love coming on here and reading everyone’s stories, seeing bump pictures and responding as much as I can. For the most part everyone is pretty positive! So asking for some positive words for myself today or if anyone has any experience.

So I am 32, this is my 4th pregnancy and 3rd baby. I had one miscarriage a long time ago and two healthy boys since. I do have PCOS, Gestational diabetes twice and pre e once. (Just a little background)

So I had my NT scan and blood work on Monday. The doctor called today saying my test was positive for 1 in 28 chances of baby having DS and that’s very high. He said I have to talk to a genetic counselor next and then schedule an appointment with the maternal fetal medicine doctor, all asap because if we have to terminate it needs to be sooner than later. (All his words not mine) i opted out for amino testing and will be doing the blood test first. I kinda just sat there stunned! I was just feeding my babies dinner, my husband is at work and I’m just in shock all while talking to my OB At 545pm. After doing some research 1/28 is really 3.57% chance of baby having DS, but still it’s considered high and scary. I know I have to wait for further testing

I know everyone is completely different, but I just can’t see terminating my very wanted pregnancy. My oldest son is autistic and my husband says I just don’t need anymore worries on

my plate. I’m hoping this is just a false positive. I’m just looking for anyone who may have been in this situation or who knows someone who has and the baby turned out fine. Thank you for reading! Sorry for errors and rambles, I’m still quite upset.
