I don't get why wigs have a bad rep

I have super long hair and I'm half black so my hair is super curly and black. I like my long hair but sometimes I want short hair and sometimes I want to have straight hair or hair that's a different color without damaging it. So I grab a wig! they're nice wigs not halloween wigs but when people see me they're confused as of that I changed my hair so fast without saying anything. Then when I say its a wig they give me a face that makes me so uncomfortable. There's nothing wrong with wearing wigs ladies! Don't think of wigs as a "black" thing either. They're for everyone!
