Mothers changing their mind about adoption
Touchy subject I know š. Iām currently binge watching a show called āOne Born Every Minuteā. During one of the episodes a young mom pregnant with twins decided to give her babies up for adoption. The adoptive parents were there during her hospital stay and had really great connection with the birth mom. The adoptive parents mentioned their fear of the mother changing her mind when social worker came in to discuss paperwork privately with the birth mother. The social worker mentioned a rule that a mother giving her baby up fo adoption has 72 hours (this show is based in Ohio) to change her mind on giving the baby up and was completely supportive on whatever she chooses to do. The adoptive parents mentioned that they couldnāt help but have that fear like they werenāt completely in the clear till that time was up. At the end of the episode the couple took home the twins and as far as I know the babies stayed with them. It just made me think of the amount of people who donāt get to keep their adoptive children. Whatās your view on this? Do you think itās wrong for a mother to change her mind within the period of time she has?
