Posted this on the What to Expect Board, but thought I’d ask here as well...

Hi ladies! So I’m currently 13 weeks, and at my last appointment my doctor told me she thinks it would be best if I schedule an induction based on my due date. My due date is the 28th, but my Dr. told me that if I want to be sure she’s the one to deliver my baby I’ll have to have an induction on the 21st. She was telling me that due to the Holidays if I go into labor anywhere from the 24th to the 1st, it won’t be her delivering the baby. I had inductions with my previous children, but that was because they were all carried to 41 weeks. I REALLY want my Doctor to be the one to deliver the baby, but feel a little weird scheduling an induction for Holiday convenience. Can’t lie, it would be nice to have the baby and be home in time for Christmas, but again, I feel kind of guilty for some reason. Just looking for some opinions here. Am I being ridiculous for not just scheduling the induction, or should I let baby come when he/she is ready? Are any of you in the same boat?

*i also want to add that my Doctor did mention that she won’t be inducing me unless baby is measuring on track and my cervix is ripe when the time comes. So no, she’s not gonna just force me to have a pre-term baby or anything crazy like that.
