When did you stop lifting weights and switch to lighter exercise (I.e. Walking, yoga, aqua)

Heather

I just hit 33 weeks, and I've been focussing mostly on chest/back since 2nd trimester (a lot of my leg exercises would aggravate my pelvis so I switched to simple step ups, body weight hip thrusts and clam shells instead during 2nd trimester) upper body exercises are lat pull downs, incline chest press, seated row, chest fly machine and face pulls. Honestly I feel like it's saved me from worlds of pain, and if I haven't been for a couple days the pain relief from going is phenomenal. Buuuut... supposedly 7ish weeks to go, I'm lifting weights at endurance 15+ reps that I struggled to get to 8/10 reps in my first trimester. Didn't think you could get so much stronger during pregnancy :P

Just wanted to see what you ladies did/are doing? I know the general consensus is "talk to your doctor", but my doctor pretty much prescribed bed rest at the start of my pregnancy (I'm low risk and have been working out for years) so that made absolutely no sense to me and laughed when I tried discussing it with her. The part that freaks me out is they probably just give that advice to a lot of pregnant ladies that should be exercising without really thinking it through. Id probably be obese and uncomfortably sore all the time if I had done that. So I haven't really spoken to her about it since and overall I feel amazing. I show up to my appointments and she's super happy with my progress so I'm not worried about it in that regard.

More interested in hearing from women who were still working out in third trimester and those who stopped in third trimester and why? I've been listening to my body first and foremost but if I'm completely honest most of the time I feel like I should be pushing harder than I am :/ and feel disappointed in myself because a lot of the guidelines say "reduce, reduce, reduce" but that just feels wrong! Plus it's winter here so transitioning to using the pool instead is pretty unappealing haha :(
