Tips on Medella Manual Breast Pump??

Question

I just tried the manual pump for the first time and I don’t think I’m using it properly.
What speed should I be using? (Squeezes per min?)
How long should the pulls be? 
(Mississippi’s?)
How much milk should I expect to see after 20 minutes?
I’m on day 8 of breastfeeding and I know my baby is getting enough but I swear I got barely anything with the pump.

Get the electric pump.  The manual doesn’t give enough power.
I have the manual only in my bag as an emergency if I’m engorged and stuck somewhere

hi from my experience of you leave it on low speed barely anything will come out. You gradually raise it as you go. It's not supposed to hurt the minute it does the speed is too high. I pump fo 25 mins every 3 hours and get like 6 ounces sometimes 8 but I'm strictly pumping not nursing as I had problems with that due to tongue tied baby.
