help period problems

i’m on holiday with my best friend and her family, my period was due today but there isn’t any sign of it turning up! we are going to the water park tomorrow and i don’t know what to do i don’t want it to come tomorrow at the park because that would be so embarrassing and i’m debating putting a tampon in but i don’t know if this is safe? what can i do??
