How long did you take off work after giving birth?

We get 14 weeks paid leave in NZ. I was hoping to take a year extended leave but am worried about putting the financial burden on my SO. Considering going back part time or relieving (I'm a teacher). Any advice?

I quit! Good childcare was far too expensive.

I’m in the uk. I’ll be taking 18 months. It’s 8 months full pay, 4 months half. Then £180 per week after that. However instead of the small amount at the end I’m going to use up my annual leave in a big chunk so get full pay again x
