Measuring behind?

Went in for my first transactional ultrasound thinking I was 8 weeks exactly. Baby was hiding so it was difficult to measure but OB determined 7w2d and 7w1d with a heart rate of 138bpm. Is this anything to be concerned with? OBGYN wasn’t worried at all. Hearing the heartbeat was beautiful but it’s hard to be super stoked when measurements are off.

don't worry, I had my scan today I thought I was 9 weeks but turned out I was 8 weeks 4 days, the measurements can change as it's so early. I am expecting it to change again at my 12 week scan

Thanks so much ladies! I have peace of mind now. Was a little concerned because I know when I ovulated and we only BD 3 days within my fertile week. But I guess we never know exactly when we conceived. 
My daughter measured spot on until she dropped behind in 3rd trimester but was born a healthy 6lb 1oz.

It’s fine!! You could go for your next ultrasound and jump ahead! As long as baby had a healthy heartbeat, you’re fine!

I thought I was 8+6 at mine and measured exactly 8. Doctor didn’t seem concerned at all and kept the same due date

I was in the same boat, I had my first ultrasound at 7w4d and was supposedly measuring 5 days behind. But I knew exactly when I ovulated and pretty much when we conceived and my tech took multiple different measurements (I was watching) and she decided to use the one that measured the smallest for some reason. Babies can be really curled up that early and I think it’s hard to get an accurate measurement because it’s still so small and hard to see the actual head and rump. I agree with Heather..in the first trimester, the measurements change all the time.

I had the same thing. thought I was 8 weeks but measured 7 weeks 3 days. it can happen because you don't necessarily ovulate on the generic 28 day cycle or whatever they may use based on the first day of your last period. I think as long as baby is healthy it's no big deal.

Totally normal! Ovulation dates can vary. I measured 5 days behind with this baby, and a week ahead with my son.

I was measuring 6 days behind but been slowly edging up at 5 days behind. The doctor says I must’ve ovulated late and it was better that at the second ultrasound we saw consistent growth. I hope you have the same news when you go to the next appt:
