CVS genetic testing?

My doctor offered us to get this at no cost ( insurance covers it) we are at no risk family history wise but just thought it'd be nice to finally get an ultrasound and see baby. Doctor never explained the procedure and our appt is on the 23rd. Well this morning me and my SO were doing some reading and now we're freaked out. Anyone have this done?

Yea the doctor said "oh they'll draw blood and give you an ultrasound" never mentioned that the blood would be drawn from the placenta

They usually will not do an amino unless the blood drawn, from your vein. Comes back with a high risk of downs, etc. I doubt your doctor was talking about the amino. The blood draw that tests for the trisomy, and downs is drawn from a vein and the ultrasound is also included with that test. Look up the harmony test.

I think i did too much reading into it lol i forgot that we didnt get the screening yet. I was already thinking horrible things i guess

I had the panorama, I think it's the same kind of test but they drew blood from me, never touched the baby. The test is like $800 and insurance doesn't usually cover it, They covered mine bc I'm high risk. Try talking to Dr about another test. Good luck.
