Has anyone dealt with an alcoholic grandparent? My mother in law is a mean alcoholic and gets plastered all the time and my husband and I have talked about how if she doesn’t get help we will keep our baby from her. She’ll see the baby at family gatherings of course but will not be allowed around the baby without one of us present. When we first talked about this he agreed he would talk to her to see if maybe she would try to change for her grandchild but now he refuses to talk to her. He says she won’t change. I would rather him say something now then to say something to her once the baby is here and she wants to babysit or whatever. I would just rather get the fight out of the way. What do you all think????? Or any advice??
