Pale yellow baby poo with fever? UPDATE
My 14 month old hasn’t been eating much since having strep and an ear infection 2 weeks ago. After she finished her antibiotics, she started spiking low grade fevers again. Thursday the daycare called and said she started vomiting and hadn’t peed since I dropped her off from 830-3. She threw up a few more times and had a fever that night, then seemed better the next day (Friday). Now yesterday she spiked another fever, barely ate a thing and had pale yellow poo. I called my pediatrician right away who had me check her color, belly for pain, for bruising etc and found nothing. He said if anything gets worse go to ER but otherwise we have an appointment tomorrow. She’s acting a little fussier and more emotional than normal and had cried for no reason that I could figure for 10 minutes straight, totally inconsolable but she did stick her finger in her ear so maybe another ear infection? I don’t know what to do! I’m so worried about her. Has anyone else been through something like this? I’m so worried about her. 😢 Everything I read is talking about kidney and liver problems, but then I find things like it could be from a virus or teething which is what her pediatrician is saying it is.
UPDATE: I just talked to the exchange. It was a nurse over at children’s hospital. She said nothing is going on that makes her think she needs to be seen immediately but that I should get her back into the pediatrician tomorrow. She said it’s reassuring that her poo is more green yellow today than pale yellow. (she just went) She said I don’t need to be worried about dehydration if she’s up and playing, if she were dehydrated she’d be laying around. Also her mouth would be dry and her eyes would not be moist. She said one wet diaper every 12 hours is fine. I will take her tomorrow and ask for a blood panel. But she said foods or antibiotics or a virus could cause the weird color poo
