Nosebleeds!?

So i have started having small nosebleeds this last week, which really scared me as I have never had one before!! Has anyone else experienced this?

This started for me around week 11 or 12. Just random small ones. One happened while I was showering which was terrifying haha but all normal. Something about capillaries expanding with all that extra blood circulating to baby

I've read that stuffy nose or nose bleeds can start happening in 2nd trimester.

Nosebleeds are common in pregnancy because you have an increase in blood flow which can make it easier for the superficial bloodvessels bleed like in your nose. If it is happening a lot try to rub some Vaseline up in your nostrils. It will help keep it moist and less likely to bleed.

I have never once had a nose bleed until I was pregnant. I had them with my daughter and now with baby #2.

There are a few potential causes - is your weather a lot drier than it usually is? My sinuses have always been sensitive to climate shifts

Also, maybe since your blood is thicker with pregnancy it's taxing the small capillaries in your nose. If it keeps up, let your doc know...sometimes they have to destroy weak Nasal capillaries to get it to stop.
