Okay, so this is probably not related to the topics that are usually discussed in this app, but I kinda want to know ya'll opinions on this.

So I work at this fast food place and on sundays we close at 10:00pm and we are required to have everything cleaned by then, so that when 10 comes around, we just put up the food count the money and go home. Well we had a family of 6 walk in at exactly 9:54pm...They were in they right to be served since it wasn't 10 yet, so we served them... I was getting a little frustrated because they were taking their sweet time to order, but I was still being polite.

By the time they got done ordering it was already a few minutes past ten and the lady asked me if we still had any soup left, and I told her that we didn't have anymore because it was already past our closing time and we had already cleaned the soup area. and she responded with "oh? you guys are closed?... I did not know that... but we can still dine in right?"

I told her that I was sorry but unfortunately they were not allowed to dine in because we were closed. and then her husband started yelling at me telling me that we weren't allowed to say that to a customer, and I was just puzzled by his response...

was I in the wrong?
