What’s wrong with my hands

Hey guys so for some reason my hands have become really irritated and red. They’re hot and itchy and extremely dry. When I apply moisturizer it burns. I’m really confused as I do not have eczema and this has only appeared a week ago I’ve never experienced this before. As you can see by the photos my hands are really red and especially around my knuckles and the bumps by my fingers. Can anyone please tell me what this could be, I’m avoiding having to see a doctor for certain reasons.
