Should a child be given "rewards" for:
It seems like second nature to people sometimes to give children treats or prizes for doing things everyone does. Maybe I'm a minority, but I wanted to know other opinions! My husband and I don't reward for any expected behavior, other than verbal praise to encrouage continuance of that (I'm happy you went to the bathroom! High five!) Are we the only ones? We just try to train our children for life, and life doesn't give cookies for doing normal things, only the extraordinary, which requires effort.
