Period or misscarriage?

I would appreciate any opinion on this if you have experiencd something like this. So I got a negative test at 8 DPO and decided to wait until I officially missed my period to test again (so in about 2 or 3 days from now). Well I thought I started my period a few days early when I started bleeding today. But when I went to the restroom just about an hour ago I noticed a clump of tissue on the paper. It was a bit thick but not very and kind of long. I didn't take a picture since my phone was dead but I looked up pictures and found that it looked similar to some of the early miscarriage photos. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on which it is. It had some partsnthat were dark red and what wasn't red was a greyish white color with pink. The picture attached is similar to what it looked like but it was a bit more in bewteen as far as sizes. Any thoughts are appreciated.
