Birth Plan out the window
Warning this is not a pleasant birth story, if you are expecting you may not want to read it.
I went in for some monitoring at the hospital on July 10th because I was having some irregular blood pressure. They decided to keep me and induce me for that and high protein in my urine. They inserted the cervadil to thin my cervix around 4:30pm and I advanced to 3cm in about 2 hours. Overnight things slowed down, baby had slowed heart rate and we had to change positions to keep him happy. Around 1am my water broke on its own and the contractions quickly became super intense I was ready for my epidural. It took him 3 tries in different spots to get it in. It was a horrible and painful experience but I was so glad when it was over and I got relief. In the morning baby's HR had normalized so they started me on pitocin. I quickly went from a 3-5 then from a 5-8 then I was ready to start pushing. After 3 hours of pushing I was ready to give up, he head was way down but I was no longer making progress. The dr had to intervene and manually turn his head because he had lodged himself slightly transverse so essentially I was pushing for nothing for hours. After turning his head with her hand she used forceps to assist in the delivery. My contractions had all of a sudden stopped so forceps in we waited almost 20 minutes for a contraction and in 2 pushes he was out. I received a 2nd degree tear with 4 stitches. Shortly after delivery I started to shake uncontrollably the dr said it was normal. Then my blood pressure bottomed out and I became unresponsive. I had spiked a fever in the minutes after labor as well. I was rushed to the ICU where I am still currently until they figure out what happened. I have only seen my baby for 1 minute immediately after his birth. My wonderful husband has spent the day doing all of his firsts without me and I am so heartbroken. So blessed that my baby is perfect and healthy. Carson David born 7-11-15 at 2:30 pm weighs 7lbs11oz 21.5 inches long
