Hi ladies,

My boyfriend and I have been together a year and I love him very much. From early time together up until now we both feel strongly that the Lord wants us to eventually get married. Every church service we go to it seems he finds something he doesn’t like about it. Sunday he told me out of the blue that he’s thinking about converting to Catholicism. I’d never heard him talk about it before, it was a surprise to me. I went one time to mass, and didn’t really feel like it fit for me but he loved it. I want to encourage him to do what he feels he needs to do in his walk with Christ but as a Protestant I want to feel like we are equally yolked. He says we could get married anyway but marriage is hard enough when you do believe fundamentally the same things, and there is much about the Catholic faith I’m unsure of, like confession, praying to saints, purgatory, and other things. I told him I would stick by his side while he learns more to make a decision, but the more I find out the more I feel turned off by it. Do you ladies have any advice?
