Have you experienced weight gain while on the Depo shot?

I just recently got the Depo shot and I was told by my nurse that people can experience slight weight gain but I’ve heard that some women have gained up to 30 pounds. I’d just like to see what your experiences are, thanks!

My niece and sister both gained like 40-50 pounds in less than a year on it.

I gained 20lbs in less than 4 months. It also made me depressed and an emotional basketcase. I'm now on the pill and have lost the 20 I gained. Finally.

yes and also I feel as if it really messed my body up for the worst too. when i got on it I was very young (12 to 13 i had terrible periods and lots of pain i got it at 9 years old) (was always a slim but thick kid) and didnt get off of it til I was an adult at the age of 19. I was then 198 pounds at just 5foot 1 but I carry on my breast and butt (nicely) since I've been off and had a child at 21. I'm now 25 and km at 155 and I feel so much better off the depo then I could imagine. I personally wouldnt recommended the depo but everyone is different.

I don't think I've gained any weight from it (feel comfortable rocking a bikini 9 months pp) and have been on it for 6ish months. I was having breakthrough bleeding pp on the mini pill and the depo was able to stop it 🤗

It’s never made me gain. I was on it for about 2 years and didn’t. Im on it again, and have been on it for about a month and a half, and it still hasn’t.

I was on the Depo for maybe about 8 months before I got on it I was 118. When I got off I was 128. It’s been almost a year now I’m now up 134 but have been slowly losing it. Depo definitely made me gain weight and now I can’t lose it😢
