I think that finding someone attractive and liking them are two very different things 
I’m kinda going through the same thing 
I think it really becomes serious when you start to think about dating the person you have a crush on rather than the person you’re actually dating.  
I have a crush on this guys at my church and he’s just really great, attractive, and just an all around sweetheart, but I would never choose him over my boyfriend just because I know that what I have with my boyfriend is way better that what I could have with this other guy yknow?
