GROUP B STREP ?!

I’m 36w5d . was tested monday at 36w3d & just got the news it was positive . any one else ? what can i expect ? this is my first baby and i’m so scared now .

It's my understanding that they just give you an antibiotic while you're in labor to help protect your baby from it.

this is my second but first time testing positive. doc said they just put me on penacillin 4 hours before birth (and a new dose every 4 hours depending on how long I'm in labor). if I dont get the penacillin 4 hours before birth the  they take babys vitals more frequently and baby has to samtay in the hospital an extra 24 hours because symptoms start appearing around the 24-48 hour after birth.  complications are rare but they know what to look for so extra monitoring is usually enough to allow them to catch anything early enough that they can intervene before a serious issue arises.  i was panicked at first but talked to tons of people and docs etc and did research online.  it's super common and issues are very rare thanks to the penacillin and monitoring protocol.  my dr told me to come in before the 5-1-1 rule to allow for enough time to have the penacillin in for 4 hours.

I was positive with baby #1 they just give you iv antibiotics. I just took my test for baby #2 Monday and they said even if it shows negative this time that they always consider you to be positive and will just give antibiotics again. Don't stress

I found out yesterday I was positive and they told me that I should get to the hospital faster since I'll need the antibiotics through my iv. they didnt seem too concerned and my doctor said about 40% of women test positive

I tested positive as well. OB said they would give me antibiotics when it’s time. I’m also terrified I won’t get it in time.

I’m positive. My doctor said if I don’t labor long enough to get the antibiotics, I’m 38 weeks and 4 cm, then they just monitor our son a little closer for 48 hrs to ensure he doesn’t have any issues. She wasn’t concerned at all.
