throwing up?

ftm here so everything is new and scary. my 2.5 week old threw up everything he ate in three huge heaves after eating but has had no other symptoms, is this just normal spitting up? or should I be concerned? the next feeding stayed down but he didn't eat nearly as much so I'm wondering if maybe he just overate?

My son did this a lot of times, he ate and ate and ate, i lifted him up and everything came out. And then he wanted more food. I found out I had to wait a bit before lifting him up after feeding, and be really gentle with how I moved him. His doctor said I shouldn’t worry as long as he wants to eat again, had normal diapers, and behaved like normal and seemed happy.

My little one does this once in a while. She’s 4 weeks now and I pump and bottle feed. Sometimes she’s very fussy and will keep wanting to eat then will throw up. Our pediatrician says babies don’t know when they are full so they will eat too fast and over eat then throw up. I’ve noticed taking breaks while feeding, and sitting her up and rubbing her back or burping her during breaks help a lot.

my 6 week old did this.....like projectile vomit but it wasnt vomit... in 3 sessions also and even came out her nose one time... i gave her a bottle that i think the nipple had a bigger flow from the usual bottle i use.... i even burped her after every oz so it was a CRAZY amount she spit up! didnt smell or anything .... and she wasnt fussy it waz a 1st time for us. so i think she ate too much too fast

If it projects away from them it’s worth a call to the pediatrician- but it really has to project!

Make sure your baby’s head is always in line with their feet and hip— their feet should never above their stomachs when feeding. Make sure the baby isn’t twisting their head/body to eat. 
The baby is likely cluster feeding- so it may be completely normal, the baby is just upping your supply by overeating, drawing more milk than they need so there’s more as they need more. Try pumping before feeding, that way you will express the fore milk that is watery and sugary, and then feed your baby when it looks whiter and thicker, this is hind milk and is fattier and will sit better in the baby’s stomach.

My 10 week old does the same thing. Dr says everything is fine as long as she has enough pee and poop diapers and as long as she is growing and seems happy. We are trying the extra burping and all the other stuff. The burping breaks are really helpful for us.

My 3.5 week old had the same issues. Took him to the doctor last week and they told me it’s reflux, he’s EBF and eats too fast so he can’t always keep it down. I give him burping breaks every 5 minutes or so now while he’s eating and sit him up for at least 15 minutes after he’s done eating and he hasn’t had any issues since then.

My 3 week old started spitting up a lot around 2 weeks old too. We asked the dr and she said it’s normal cuz their digestive system is still being developed. She said ways to help it is to burp them during feedings. So if u feed off both boobs burp them when u switch the boob or if u do one boob per feeding just stop them after a while to burp and then put them back on. She also said keep them sitting up for 30-40 mins after each feeding, even if they poop she said try to wait changing the diaper until 30-40 mins passes so they don’t lay down and spit up.
