Starting to breastfeed after 4 months of bottle feeding
I have decided to start to journey to breastfeeding my almost 4 month old. Yes, you read that right. He’s almost 4 months old.
My original plan was to breastfeed, but he ended up being born 5 weeks early and needed to be in the NICU for a little bit for oxygen therapy. Long story short, both my husband and I felt that bottle feeding him at the time was the best thing for all 3 of us. We bottle fed our first so we had a better understanding of that type of feeding.
Since then though, I really wish I had kept up on pumping so I would have been able to eventually breastfeed him. So I did my research and found out that I could pick breastfeeding up again. By taking fenugreek and blessed thistle to get my milk going again and pumping every 2 hours (or having my baby latch for a little bit) I could have a chance at breastfeeding.
I finally decided to take the leap and started on the supplements and I’m going to get a pump hopefully this weekend.
Any tips you guys can share for breastfeeding would be very helpful.
