How long after did you (or your doc recommend) wait after getting IUD removed before starting TTC?

I thought I needed to wait to TTC but my dr gave me the go ahead as soon as I got it out. I had the paraguard IUD in for 3 years. Got it out at the end of November & tested positive right before Christmas. I'm now 33 weeks pregnant

I had my copper IUD removed in March. My OB said that it would take two months for my body to return to "normal" and that we should try really hard for six months after that. If we didn't get pregnant we were supposed to go back. Well, on June 16th we discovered I was pregnant and 6 weeks along. We hadn't really started trying because we were just coming out of the recovery period. So, surprise! Now I'm 10 weeks along and everything still seems so surreal.

My doctor told me I could start ttc right away but if it didn't happen within 6 months to come back and see him. I already have 2 children and he was pretty confident I was already ovulating.

I had my IUD removed mid April and haven't had success yet, but my doc said she likes to see 3 regular cycles before you get pregnant, so here goes month 4!! :)
