can anyone tell me if this looks like mastitis? I have all the symptoms apart from a fever

Yep! start nursing on it asap, take a hot shower and run a comb down the hot side then nurse again. Good Luck! It sucks but if your ontop of it quivkly you can unclog it quickly and not be too miserable

ive had this soooo much!.... just learned while your nursing or pumping take an electric toothbrush or hand held massager and run it on that boob...the vibrations unclog it ... it lit saved me few weeks ago even for plig ducts or fast milk flow and help to bring on more milk. ..... so take a hot shower or hot rag on the boob and then massage... work through the pain til its unclogged! if blood or pus comes out dont worry its still fine for your baby. (i didnt know that years ago and when i seen blood i didn't give it to my baby (i was pumping also) which made me lose my supply :(

You should get some lecithin. take 4 a day for a couple of weeks then slowly wean down to one.

If you can pump it, cold cabbage leaf, try to massage it out too. Xx
