19 days late and counting...

I called the doctor because we are TTC and I have been very regular for the past year. I was 14 days late when I called to try to set up an appointment because all the tests are negative. They said I have to wait a whole month! Has anyone else had this? How can I ensure proper prenatal care without confirmation? I need a more local doctor anyways is it time to change? I am taking prenatals and straying away from alcohol and medications unhealthy for the developing fetus but this would be my first baby and I have a lot of questions.
