Do you think High schools should require an actual full semester Sex Ed class, before someone can graduate?

I’ve noticed that a lot of women and men don’t understand how pregnancy happens/works. I’ve also noticed that they seem confused on things that can cause pregnancy, as well as ways to prevent pregnancy. Do you think high schools should require a full semester Sex Ed class as part of the credits one must obtain before graduating?

Yes but ACTUAL sex Ed. I had a 2 week class in middle school that parents had to consent to and the only thing they taught us was abstinence and how sexually transmitted diseases can kill you. I walked out of that class still not knowing shit.

I think thorough sex Ed should be taught in health class, and health is one of the required classes, so yes. I don’t agree with adding in an entire new class specifically for sex ed, though, because most high school students are taking many classes anyway. I think that adding in more required classes would be too much for most students to handle, especially since lots play sports after school, or work part time jobs. 
My health class has an entire unit on sex ed, which taught about safe sex, the importance of consent, different contraceptives, and even the importance of same-sex couples still using protection to avoid STDs. I think the way my school did it was perfect.

It should be required. Sex is a part of life, like mathematics or science. People should understand the basics of how to practice safe sex, how pregnancy happens, etc. 
It’s not like schools teaching the basics of sex ed is the same as telling them what to do with the info. It doesn’t encourage kids to have sex. It’s not like teaching chemistry means the school is responsible if a kid goes and makes a pipe bomb or whatever (not that sex and pipe bombs are comparable, but you get my point). 
I see absolutely no reason that a damn teenager should not learn basic things about being a human being in the world.

Yes, I think it should be required. a full semester class covering sex education (safe sex, how to avoid pregnancy and STDs, what consent is, birth control methods, etc), puberty for both sexes, healthy relationships (how to spot abuse and what to do if it happens to you), what sexual assault is and how to report it, date rape drugs (because teens go to parties), etc. There are too many teenagers who don't know how their bodies work and end up pregnant or with STDs, or they end up being in abusive relationships because no one ever taught them what a healthy relationship is supposed to be like. sure, they can talk about abstinence, but I disagree with abstinence-only classes. statistics prove they do not work.

No, I think it should be up to the parents. it should be offered, but parents should be able to choose if their child participated or not.

Maybe something that is actually educational? I also think genders should be seperated. From personal experience, guys and girls need the same education, just not together. It should be given their first year. Not all mixed up. I was put into my class freshman year. Only one other underclassmen was in there, a sophomore I didn't know. My entire table was just Seniors. Male Seniors. Nothing like learning about sex with a bunch of older guys 🤦‍♀️

Parents who don’t want their child taking part in sex ed should also be fully prepared for a grandchild very early on lol. school isn’t the most comfortable place to learn about sex, but teens do need access to sex education. My high school sex education consisted on labeling a diagram of a penis and a vagina, talking about periods, and talking about pregnancy. Sure there was the “pregnancy occurs when you have sex, when the sperm meets the egg..” yeah yeah. The actual act of having sex was never discussed, the boys laughed at the teacher even saying the word “penis”. It was the absolute bare minimum and I learned nothing, all other knowledge came from google.

Yes. I don't even think it should be an option it should be a requirement, like history. Reproductive health and sex education, REAL sdx education, is so important and there's too many people out here who have no idea how their own body works, and the opposite sex. My 28 year old SO recently made a comment about period saying "huh, I thought that was something that happened sometimes, randomly" Like.. what .

I've been out of high school so long that I didn't know it disappeared. I was really shocked that most schools stopped it especially after the huge fuss that was made about keeping it in the 90's.
