Evening primrose oil?

Anyone else’s doctor tell them to start taking evening primrose oil to help the cervix start the process? 
She told me to take it so I’m going to, but just curious if it did anything for anyone?

I had done a bunch of reading and success stories early on, so when my Dr. recommended it I was giving it a shot. My Dr. has me on 1 oral & 1 vaginally. So I have been taking the oral after waking & and the vaginal before bed (and then I wear a pad or pantyliner so any leakage doesn't ruin my pajamas or bedding as it is an oil). I went from 0cm and 0% to 1cm and 50% in 4 days of taking it. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Could be coincidental, could be causedby the EPO. Either way I'm due the 6th and ready to have this chunker now.

I use it both orally and vaginally but every time I insert them before I sleep i wake up to more of my mucus plug!!

Mine suggested it to me at my appt today. Are you going to take it orally or vaginally? Or has any specified which is more effective? Putting capsules up in there freaks me out lol 😂 😂 but I’ll do it to get this baby out!

Some say it helps some say it doesn't. Not enough conclusive testing has been done on possible risks it may pose to mom and baby..  so for that reason I refuse to use it. Women tend to listen to their doctors when they say "take this". I always do my own added research on something before hand. 
Your cervix will do what it needs naturally without help.
This is coming from a fed up mom who has had no progress at 39 weeks with 3rd baby.

Lynzie! I’ve been taking it for weeks with no luck. I’m 39w2d. I’m continuing to take it, I hear it helps with at least softening the cervix and even -can- help to prevent tearing. I’m not sure if it’s working or not but imma keep taking it. I was only a fingertip dilated at my appointment two days ago. I’ve been taking it orally and I WAS pricking a hole in two pills per night and inserting it up there, but the smell of it is freaking awful...I thought I had an infection...I don’t, but every time I do that, it smells the whole next day. Like a weird minerally smell. So I stopped doing that, but I’m still taking 2,000 mg orally per day.
