So I’m really into this guy, he and I have been talking quite a bit and he invited me over for an official date(previously we had been sneaking out at night because we live close) his mom is totally ok with us together. She really wants to meet me. But I brought it up to my parents that I wanted to go, and they took my phone and other electronics and grounded me all of a sudden. They never gave me a clear reason why I can’t go out with this guy and they don’t want to talk about it. I told the guy that my parents just weren’t comfortable with the idea yet (kind of lying) and he talked to his mom who said that the parents should get together for a rational discussion to let us be together. I don’t know how to talk to my parents about this if they refer to him as an issue rather than someone I’m interested in. Please help!!
