So I have a question for all you mamas out there who are nurses or who work 12 hr shifts at your job...

Currently I work as a nurse Monday-Wednesday 7a-7p. I leave my house at 0615 and get home at 2000. I’m 18 weeks now. I just thought that with 12 hr shifts it would be too difficult to do with a new born so I put in a schedule change request to work 2 8hr and 2 10hr shifts, mon, tues, thurs, fri. I would take the babe to day.

I would like to keep my 12hr shift and have a nanny for Monday and Tuesday and Daddy take care of babe on Wednesday.

Do any of you still work your 12 hrs shifts? How has that worked for your family? Do you feel it was too difficult being away from your baby for so much of the day?

Please let me know what has been your personal experience. It’s so hard making these decisions! Thank you so much!!!
