What’s your go to period material?

So I am 14 and I got my period last year and I have been using pads ever since! I finally tried a tampon today and it was uncomfortable to put it in but maybe because I never had anything up there. Is there any tips for me and what is your go to period material.

If it feels uncomfortable maybe try standing up the next time you put one in. When I get out of the shower i'm usually standing when I change mine and for me it's easier that way.

pads when at home, tampons when I have to go out. although I am considering getting a menstrual cup instead because it's cheaper in the long run. also, if it feels uncomfortable when you have a tampon in, you probably haven't put it in correctly. try standing and putting it in if you haven't already, and if that's uncomfortable then try it sitting down over the toilet

I had trouble at first trying tampons I found it uncomfortable too but there are different types and sizes too to try out . Some may work better for you than others.

Tampons at heaviest, Heavy duty pads at night and light pads for spotting. I learned how to use a tampon when I wanted to swim on my period. I was so scared at first but my best friend just shoved me in the bathroom with one and told me it would take some getting used to. Like sitting the first time hurts but I swear it gets better.

Tampons should not be uncomfortable—maybe try a different size or one with a different applicator. And once it is in, you shouldn’t feel it at all. Also, pro tip, wear a thin liner (not a full pad though) even when you are using a tampon in case it bleeds through. I learned that the hard way.
