OMFG! Cervix check & Membrane Sweep BOTH PAINFUL!

Had a midwife do first the cervical check dilation/effacement and second the membrane sweep. And both were EXTREMELY more painful than my first pregnancy delivery under epidural!!!!

My first pregnancy did a dilation/effacement check but nothing near this kind of pain and was a little bit discomforting but not painful. I screamed, cussed, cried, shaken, traumatized and questioning if the midwife hated me a bit. Didn’t do a membrane sweep with my first pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy so membrane sweep is first for me. I have no other pains to compare this to. I’ll have to wait to have my 3rd or 4th child to gain more experience but even then I will NEVER agree to do these two.

I felt like the midwife who performed these two on me had post traumatic stress from bad pregnancies and was training me to go to tough war (labor).

I had a terrible experience. Horrendous! Anyone’s experience this bad or good? Researched and read a bit about these two on pain. It’s back and forth.

The midwife explained to me that there is no pain medication given to perform these two and that my cervix is behind the babies head (unfavorable cervix). What do you gals think?
