metformin

I was diagnosed over 10 years ago with pcos in the fall me and my husband are going to a specialist. my question is should I start back on metformin before I go to the fertility specialist or should I wait until after I see him. I know I need and want to lose weight before the visit cause I know they are going to ask me to. need help thanks.
