I was in a long distance relo for 2 and a half years and I wouldn't change a single moment of it for the world. Long distance relationships really test your trust and loyalty in your S/O and it can build a truly unbelievable bond and strengthens the relationship immensely. However what you need to be aware of is that as beautiful as long distance relationships are they are EXTREMELY difficult: Throughout every happy moment you experience, the number 1 thing on your mind is "I wish they were here to experience this with me". Arguments are 10x more difficult to resolve due to lack of being able to talk it out face to face. But most of all when you need them or they need you, you can't just hold them in your arms and I think that's the hardest part of all. However my long distance relationship was the most eye opening and uplifting experience of my life and I'd recommend that if you've got something good, then girl you best hold onto that man and give it a go ❤️ goodluck x

My relationship with my boyfriend started long distance from day one. Basically if you know that he’s the only one you want to be with and vice versa then you shouldn’t worry. 
All you need to know is 
BE INTERACTIVE 
Any way possible 
My BF and I find phone games and compete, we said audios and voice messages, sometimes we sleep on the phone(Ik it sounds weird but, there is nothing more soothing than hearing him fall asleep) 
Every time you have a random thought tell him. Send care packages 
FaceTime FaceTime FaceTime 
Have something to look forward to 
There’s this countdown app that counts down in heart beats and you can customize it by adding your favorite song and pics of him
Communication and trust is EVERYTHING 
You don’t want to leave anything open 
When something is wrong tell him right away 
I’m long distance you can’t afford to keep things in 
And just love each other 
Know that you guys are together and do long distance for a reason 
You’ll be fine and so will your relationship 😌

I think long distance can work if u met the person before becoming long distance and if there is a clear plan to be in the same place. I don't think they work if those 2 elements arnt present.

Not exactly, but from the beginning of our relationship (seven years ago) until about three months ago, my husband worked out of town for about 6-8 months out of the year. That was tough in it's own right and felt very much like a long distance relationship. We made it through though.

I was in a long distance relationship for 2 years. After that he moved closer to me and things started to fall apart because I got to know the real him that I hadn’t seen before being apart so much. Turns out he was actually a total waste of 3 years. It’s hard to really get to know someone when you’re not spending much face to face time with them.
