He’s probably done that before with someone else. That was one of the very first things my ex asked me to do, when we first started dating. It was just weird. I don’t know why he wanted it. But he had a history of hookups and short term relationships and I was high up on the list of how many girls he’s been with. 
I would never do that or allow it, even with my husband. Once something like that is recorded, you risk it getting into the wrong hands or being found by someone else. Or ending up online with or without your consent. Too many problems that I don’t need or want.
