D&C tmrw...what to expect?

Having a d&c; tmrw getting progressively nervous-what should I expect? Lost baby at 10 weeks not sure why...

It’s really not so bad. I had one after my baby’s heart stopped at 12 weeks.
You’ll get admitted and shown to a bed, it could be a long wait so make sure your phone is charged and bring a book or something.
I had blood drawn before the procedure, for various tests they needed to run in my situation, and I had an IV put in because mine was performed under general anaesthetic.
Eventually you’ll get wheeled off to the OR, where you’ll meet the team, they’ll ask you several questions, who you are, what they are doing and for you to explain to them what procedure you are having in your own words, so they know that you know what is about to happen. 
After that you’ll get the anaesthetic and oxygen, you’ll take a handful of deep breaths, and then wake up in recovery 15-30 minutes later.
The cramping after is minimal, not too bad, motrin will make it manageable. Expect to feel off for a couple of days after. The bleeding will come and go, could be spotting, could be clots, could be brown or red. You will be told what to watch out for and what counts as too much pain and too much bleeding.

My D&C; was painless compared to the emotional pain of the miscarriage. I had horrible physical pain for 3 days before the D&C;, so the D&C; was such a relief. 
I went in, signed some papers, changed clothes, got an IV, they let my husband sit with me until surgery, they took me back to surgery, put me to sleep, I woke up with almost no pain (Pain was like last day of a period), it took me an hour to wake up, my husband took me home. I had light bleeding for a week, the doctor gave me pain pills even though I wasn’t in pain anymore... and I got high off them the next few days to try to sleep and feel better

I’m probably having one on Friday. I’m more nervous for the IV than anything- they hurt me so bad!

Hello.. First, I am sorry for your loss. Second, I have had 2. Both were completely different experiences. I lost both close to 12 weeks.
First: At the ER. I was completely under..it was fairly fast and easy. I woke up and they monitored me for abit and I was sent home. I bled like a light period and spotted for a few days.. a total of 2 weeks. No sex until I was done spotting. The burse told me to hold of on sex for abit. I do recall I had really bad cramping a few days after but my dr told me to take 800mg of Advil. That experience was okay overall.
Second: Absolute worse thing/pain I have ever felt. It was an outpatient office. I got Motrin and something to soften my cervix. I was wide awake the whole time and the pain is horrendous. I have a hugh tolerance for pain but I was screaming and crying from the pain. It was horrible. Luckily, I did not have very much left inside so the procedure lasted maybe about 5 minutes but it was the absolute worst pain I have ever felt (and I have a child and went 24 in labor). Afterwards I cried in the recovery room for an hour. The bleeding was minimal and I did not cramp as much as the first time. Again, I bled for almost 2 weeks. I was giving 2 types of antibiotics and was told to take Motrin for the pain. The recovery wasnt as bad the second time but the procedure was horrible. I would never do it again.
